Welcome to our Library!!!
We hope that you enjoy reading books in your native language. Or maybe the library will also serve those who are learning Ukrainian? Who knows😊 Welcome to all of you!
We want to facilitate your access to literature in Ukrainian language. We are also trying to collect school text books and school exercise notebooks to help your children continue their education while being abroad due to the war.
With tremendous effort and commitment of many people - Poles, Swiss and Ukrainians, we managed to bring the first batch of books from occupied Ukraine. We also managed to obtain some books from private individuals living in Switzerland. Thank you!
Thus far we have managed to collect more then 700 books.
We want to offer you the opportunity to use our Library in Zurich at Badenerstrasse 658. This room was made available to us by GZ Loogarten for which we thank GZ Loogarten with all our hearts!!!
I would like to add that this project would have not been possible without few crucial people. Let me name them below and let me show them to you😉
Enjoy reading the book
Renata – who was pushing and pulling so that the library goes life. She also found the place where the library will be hosted. Renata is also the official Manager of the Library, I am sure you will have a chance to meet our nice friend!
Lisa – thank you for inputting all the hundreds of books into the system, and photographing them all.
Taras – thank you for purchasing and installing the shelf.
Angela – thank you for the super curtain to cover our shelf and make sure our books are safe.
Simone – running the GZ Loogarten, thank you for all your support and welcoming approach, enabling us to run our library at the GZ premises.
Vaselina, Anna, Jarek, Irina, Ina, Liuda – thank you for organizing the books and the transport of them into CH! I list you last; however, it goes without saying that without you, there would be no library. Thank you to all the other people who were directly, indirectly or just mentally supporting us.
Thank you all,
With lots of LOVE
