Proskuriv, 1912. Twelve years have passed since the last events in Kamianka. And now Yakov Rovner again finds himself at the epicenter of mysterious events. The villagers, returning from the evening service in the church, witness the inexplicable: a streak of bright light flashed in the sky and mysteriously disappeared.

Local officials do not believe in the "miracle of God" and ask Jacob to investigate so that the villagers do not make a fuss. Rovner interviews the villagers.... What Yaakov found out seems impossible, since the mysterious light is connected with the grave of Ustym Karmalyuk and the legendary Hasidic leader Baal Shem Tov.

Nevertheless, some of those involved in the incident believe that the mysterious light is the work of Austrian intelligence... So many theories and so few answers. Jacob Rovner begins a dangerous investigation. And for this he has planned something illegal and terrible.
