Ernest Hemingway (1899-1961) was a prominent American writer and Nobel Prize winner.  Hemingway's style is the utmost brevity of language and at the same time an amazing visualization of description, an unusual dialog that seems superficial but contains a deep and meaningful subtext.  All of this opens up a real artistic universe for the reader, incommensurable in scale with the little that is directly discussed in his works.
