Description

The youngest generation of readers and theatregoers hardly knows the works of Ivan Mykytenko, a writer who was widely popular in his time. It so happened that the unexpected and tragic death of the author of Dictatorship and Brothers, Our Lady's Bastille and The Vurkagans, Girls of Our Country and Personnel, Flute Solo and Morning cut short his life in literature.
The realistic images of people of the socialist era created by the writer deeply disturbed Soviet readers and still do, because they embody the truth of the unforgettable years of the struggle for October and the pathos of socialist construction in the first five years. With his work, he made a valuable contribution to Ukrainian Soviet literature, in particular to such branches as prose and drama.
