Description

Full of irony and painful nostalgia, the detective novel "The Murder of a Drunken Pioneer Woman" is a story of a double investigation of a crime conducted by both adults and children. Unexpectedly, the quiet village of Varvarka becomes the center of mysterious events, woven into a criminal tangle that the heroes of the novel will have to unravel. Behind the crime is not only a person, behind the crime is the Soviet system, hopelessly mired in lies. Those who remain truly honest are the children, doomed to grow up in a difficult, treacherous world of adults. This is a novel about a small person against the background of the time, about friendship, about relationships in the family, which is also subject to the influence of the system. It is also a kind of ticket to a 3D film about life in the late 1950s, densely saturated with smells, sounds, the splash of the river, the rustle of bare feet on the river sand. It is as if a window opens to the distant past (and for young readers - to the past of their parents and grandparents), and from there - the smells of childhood, fried bulls, baked potatoes, hot dust, green neighborhood apples.
