Description

A Ukrainian historical tale from the twelfth century in two parts. Reprinted from the 1918 edition.
Yaroslav I Volodymyrovych Osmomysl (1130s - 1187) was a prince of Galicia (1153-1187), the son of the Galician prince Volodymyr the Great.
The chronicle first mentions him in 1150 in connection with his marriage to Olha, the daughter of Prince Yuri I Dolgoruky. In the Tale of Igor's Campaign, he is called Osmomysl (which has eight meanings, i.e., intelligent, wise).
