From Roman to Jordan, Ukrainians have celebrated a number of different winter festivals since ancient times. These celebrations had both a religious and a household ritual dimension. So now we have the entire heritage of many generations of Ukrainians from various spheres of life: religion, church practice, poetry, song, theater, and cooking. This publication will help our younger generation of Ukrainians recreate ancient winter rituals and performances in the urban environment of the twenty-first century.
