Description

The story "The Night Reporter" is set in Lviv in 1938. The journalist Marko Krylovych, nicknamed the "night reporter" for his nightly reports from the life of the city's underbelly, undertakes to investigate the murder of the city's presidential candidate. In the process, he gets involved in a variety of both love and criminal adventures, sometimes risking his life.

Mark is unofficially assisted by police commissioner Roman Obukh, who has been removed from the murder investigation by his superiors. Meanwhile, German and Soviet spies intervene in the case, and Polish counterintelligence also becomes interested in the investigation. Criminal circles are also interested in the case.

We are presented with a picturesque and vividly described underworld of Lviv of that time, including taverns, murder houses, brothels, and prostitution establishments. The reader will have to unravel mystery after mystery together with the characters against the backdrop of the anxious mood of Lviv residents living in anticipation of war.
