Yuriy Ivanovych Yanovsky was a Ukrainian poet, one of the most prominent romanticists in Ukrainian literature of the first half of the twentieth century. "Kyiv Sonata is a story with happy ending about the events in Nazi-occupied Kyiv in 1943. It is based on the story of two boys, Felix and Volya, who lost their families, experienced many terrible and sad moments, managed to save their lives and rescue a little girl, Talya, and became one family.
