Fate brings Jadie and Lucas together in Morocco.
Jadie, a Muslim orphan, returns from Rio, where she grew up, to the home of her uncle Ali. Lucas, a native of Rio, travels through the African country with his twin brother Diogo, his father Leonidas, his father's mistress Yvette and the scientist Albieri. Jadie and Lucas cannot be together because they belong to different worlds. They each build their own family: Lucas marries Maize and Jadie marries Said. At the same time, Albieri, deathly pining after the death of his godson Diogo, decides to create a clone of the surviving twin.
