Description

In the history of Polish literature of the second half of the XIX - early XX centuries, a prominent place is occupied by the work of Maria Konopnicka, whose name rightly stands alongside the names of such prominent writers of the time as Bolesław Prus, Eliza Ozheshko and Henryk Sienkiewicz. In the poem "Pan Balcer in Brazil" (1892-1910), the author reflected the hardships of Polish peasant emigrants, expressed faith in a better future for working people. Also, the volume includes short stories and a selection of "From the Wandering Roads".
