The novel "Neighbours" is a story about the life of a Ukrainian village in the first years after the victory of October. The novel focuses on the figure of the red cavalryman Andrii Varianytsia, who was elected by his fellow villagers to head the village council.

The young couple Vustia Kucher and Andriy Naida, the protagonists of the novel "The Exclusion Zone", are separated by the war, and soon Vustia learns of Andriy's death. The enemy has captured their native land. But in the difficult hour of trial, Vustia, like all Soviet people, does not lose her courage, firmness, and faith in victory.
